Who qualifies for services?
Children infant to age 22
Residents of the Permian Basin
Children with orthopedic and neurological limitations
How do I get started?
Begin by contacting your physician if you have concerns that your child needs a referral for therapy. The parent or primary caregiver can contact MCRC to request an evaluation for occupational, physical or speech therapy.
What should I bring to the evaluation?
A doctor’s prescription
You may bring previous medical reports and information, however you will have an opportunity to fill out a history form so it is not required.
How long does it take?
Evaluations take approximately one hour. The report will be ready in about 2 weeks. At this time the therapist will contact you to go over the results.
How long will my child receive services at the Center?
Each child is evaluated individually. The therapist creates goals with input from the parents and child. Typically children are seen for 8 weeks and then re-evaluated. At this point the child may continue for another 8 week treatment session or be released with a home program. Children who have been released are followed up and may be picked back up for therapy depending on the child’s current needs.
Can I get therapy at the Center and somewhere else too?
In order to make the most effective use of community resources and MCRC resources children who attend therapy services with another provider are not eligible for services at MCRC.
What kind of insurance do you take?
There is no charge for services at MCRC. We are a non-profit organization and our vision is to provided services at no or little cost to the children and their families. This is possible because of the generosity of foundations, corporations, fundraisers, and donations by private individuals.
